What makes Level 17 tricky.

Thirteen moves, and the first five all land on the same ex-girlfriend: the bucket, the needle, her clothes dragged down, the scissors and the beard. Five deliveries to one recipient build a rhythm the level then abandons. Step six is a double-click on the window, the only press in the sequence, and it does nothing visible on its own. What it changes is the sky: the moon only becomes reachable once that glass is open, so step seven cannot happen before it.

The scissors are the one tool used twice. Step four sends them at the ex-girlfriend; step eight sends the same pair at the wire, a target the cards never mention before that point. A run that treats a used object as spent will stall with seven moves done and nothing left that looks new. The wire goes to the ex-girlfriend at step nine, and step ten drags the clock onto the window, the only move in the level that changes the room instead of a person. Sun and moon trade places, step seven wanted the moon, step eleven wants the sun, and neither accepts the other.

The last two moves split the rhythm. Step twelve is the speaker, and its recipient is the bride, the only person in the dorm who is not the target of anything else. Step thirteen returns to the ex-girlfriend with the spider. The bride is easy to forget because three of the four moves that never touch the ex-girlfriend come before her card, and the speaker has no obvious owner until the card names one. Four moves never reach the ex-girlfriend, nine do, and a single clock holds the sky in place: that is the shape of the level.

One object used twice, one object that changes the room.

Three things in this level do not behave like the drags around them:

Twelve drags and one double-click on the window, and the run only breaks where an object is reused or the sky is in the wrong state.

FAQ.

What is the answer to Brain Puzzle 3 Level 17?

In order: 1) Drag the bucket to the ex-girlfriend; 2) Drag the needle to the ex-girlfriend; 3) Drag down the ex-girlfriend's clothes; 4) Drag the scissors to the ex-girlfriend; 5) Drag the beard to the ex-girlfriend; 6) Double-click to open the window; 7) When the moon is outside the window, drag the moon to your ex-girlfriend; 8) Drag the scissors to the wire; 9) Drag the wire to the ex-girlfriend; 10) Drag the clock to the window to switch between the sun and the moon; 11) When the sun is outside the window, drag the sun to your ex-girlfriend; 12) Drag the speaker to the bride; 13) Drag the spider to the ex-girlfriend

Why does nothing happen when I tap in Level 17?

Twelve of the thirteen moves are drags; the window at step six is the only double-click, and the clock at step ten is dragged onto the window rather than onto a person.

Is this Level 17 walkthrough up to date?

Written against the current build, in which the dorm sits at 17; the numbers shift whenever a room is inserted earlier, which is why older videos disagree.
