Nine of the eleven moves are drags onto a named recipient, which the clip shows faster than the cards can list them.
Level 40 walkthrough: every move in order.
Drag the dog food to the puppy; then Drag the radio to the parrot; then Drag the wolf photo to the dog
Drag the mushroom from the poster to the dog; then Drag the fan to the dog; then Drag the spider to the boy
Tap the mouse hole; then Drag the mouse to the cat; then Drag the clock to the fish tank
Swipe down the cabinet; then Drag the robot dog to the man
What makes Level 40 tricky.
Eleven moves and nine of them are drags, each one ending on a named animal or person. That is the whole difficulty: the level is a matching exercise, and every object is written with exactly one recipient, so the pairing has to be read off the cards rather than guessed at. Four drags land on the dog and the puppy together (the food, the wolf photo, the mushroom lifted off the poster and the fan), which makes the dog the busiest customer in the shop by a wide margin. The puppy takes the first of the nine drags and the dog takes three of the next four, so the front of the queue is where the pattern is set.
Two moves break the drag rhythm. The mouse hole is the only plain press, and it has to come before the mouse can be carried to the cat, because the mouse is not on screen as a draggable until the hole has been touched. The cabinet near the end opens on a downward swipe, the last input that is not a drag. The closing move pairs the robot dog with the man, and that robot is the only pet in the level that is not an animal. Both breaks sit in the back half of the sequence (the press at step seven, the swipe at step ten), which is why the ending feels unlike the opening.
The shop reads as a row of customers with one object waiting near each of them, which is what makes the order legible at a glance. The clock is the quiet oddity: it goes into the fish tank rather than to an animal, so the one item that looks like a pet accessory ends up as scenery for a fish. Seven recipients share the nine drags: the dog takes three of them and every other one takes a single delivery.
The wolf photo at step three is the strangest item in the shop: a picture of an animal treated as a deliverable, carried to a live dog. Between the photo, the mushroom that grows on a poster and the robot dog at the end, three of the eleven moves hand over representations instead of creatures. The level keeps testing whether you drag what something is or what it looks like. The FAQ below explains why a press barely registers here.
The pairings, one line each.
Read the level as a list of one-to-one pairs, because that is how the steps are written:
- Dog: the dog food, the wolf photo, the mushroom from the poster and the fan.
- Parrot: the radio. Cat: the mouse. Fish tank: the clock. Boy: the spider. Man: the robot dog.
- Mouse hole: the only press. Cabinet: the only swipe, and it comes after the tank.
The puppy takes the opening drag and the man takes the closing one, so both ends of the sequence are the easiest to forget.

Is this Level 40 walkthrough up to date?
Written against the live build; the numbering moves whenever rooms are inserted earlier in the list, which is why old clips disagree.
