What makes Level 21 tricky.

Three destinations share these twelve moves, and the door takes six of them. The key on the floor, the photo frame on the cabinet, the socks on the sofa, the flame off the wife's head, the poster and the dog all end at the door, which is where the evidence pile builds. The lipstick and the crying child go to the wife outside instead, and the purple bow goes to the dog. Every item belongs to exactly one of those three, which is how a run can be nine moves deep and still wrong about where the tenth has to go.

Two moves are tools rather than evidence. The bag at step 3 is a click, and the lipstick at step 4 does not exist until it is open; the cabinet door at step 7 is a right swipe, and the pen at step 8 is the same kind of unlock. The pen then goes to the poster on the wall instead of to the door, and the poster goes to the door one step later, so a run hunting for the next thing to add to the pile will skip the wall entirely.

The oddest drag in the level is the flame on the wife's head at step 6. It is a state rather than an object, it sits on the person you are helping, and it still has to be carried to the door like everything else. The cabinet is the second thing to watch: the same furniture gives up a photo frame at step 2 to a plain drag and only opens its door at step 7 to a swipe, so an early visit teaches the wrong gesture. The order below is the only thing separating those two.

Three destinations, not one.

Six moves end at the door, but the other six do not, and they are the ones that stall a run:

• Six moves end at the door: the key on the floor, the photo frame, the socks on the sofa, the flame, the poster and the dog.
• Two end on the wife outside: the lipstick at step 4 and the crying child at step 12, which is the last move of the level.
• The purple bow comes off the mistress's head and goes to the dog at the door, not to the wife and not to the pile.
• Step 3 is a click on the bag. The lipstick at step 4 is inside it and does not exist before the click.
• Step 7 is a right swipe on the cabinet door, and the pen at step 8 comes out of it.
• The pen's target is the poster on the wall, and the poster reaches the door at step 9.
• The cabinet is used twice, at step 2 as a surface and at step 7 as a door. Two gestures, one piece of furniture.

The last move is a drag onto the wife, so a run that has finished the pile at the door can still be one input short.
